True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It comes to see that a system that produces beggars needs to be repaved. We are called to be the Good Samaritan, but after you have lifted so many people out of the ditch you start to ask, maybe the whole road to Jericho needs to be repaved.

dwell on the Lord
remember His name
empty your truth
He'll fill it again

Christ before me

Now I see the Father

so i think that Jeremiah might be might favorite book of the Bible. but i normally think that of just about whatever book i'm currently reading.

Jer. 17:5-9
"This is what the Lord says:
Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.

But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in Him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.

The heart is deceitful above all things
end beyond cure.
Who can understand it?"

the state of our hearts is so important. it is the difference between the man who depends on flesh and the man who trusts in the Lord. do not let your heart deceive you, it is not the ultimate authority.

i found a piece of paper this morning in the most unexpected place. it said this:

"Samuel will you lend me your ear, this is the voice of your Father here. If I speak the words and no one has the vision, can i count on you my sweet child to listen, Samuel lend me your ear. And when the whole world is through with you baby, I will still love you my child."

i really have no idea where this came from or how i got it, has anyone ever heard that before?

The man of faith will fight when things get restless. The man of flesh will get restless when its time to fight.

thank you pastor cleetus.
